The King of Fourth Meal Is Looking to Take Over the First Meal Market
Taco Bell has unveiled a new and original breakfast item for testing at select locations. The popular QSR chain is hoping to play off its recent Doritos Locos success with the “Waffle Taco”. At only 89 cents, the breakfast concoction rivals McDonald’s sausage biscuits and McGriddles.
Taco Bell is headquartered in Irvine, CA ironically just a few miles from the original Bruxie gourmet waffle sandwich location. Bruxie is typically packed come Friday night, with lines often more than 10 customers deep. But can a fast food version attract a similar loyal following? Judging from its ingredients, price as well as the popularity of Doritos Locos tacos, the waffle novelty should be well received, especially by those looking for a quick morning meal on the cheap.
And with the prowess of their social media marketing team, Taco Bell may have found themselves a winner. Have you tried the waffle taco yet?
